Manali Spiti Tour Packages

Day 1 — Manali to Kaza via Atal Tunnel and Kunzum Pass

Distance | Time Required: ~185 km | ~8-10 hours

The Journey: Pickup from the hotel/ bus stand from the Manali in the very early morning (5-6 am) and proceeds to Kaza via Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, Kokksar, Gramphu, Chhatru and Batal, Kuzum Pass and Losar.

The Challenge:The 60 km stretch from Gramphu to Batal is a rugged, unpaved boulder track. After a quick stop at Batal (Chacha Chachi Chandra Dhaba), you will climb the mighty Kunzum Pass (15,060 ft) before descending into Losar and finally reaching Kaza.

Sightseeing Points:

• Atal Tunnel: Travel through the impressive tunnel which connecting Lahaul Valley with the Kullu Valley.
• Chhatru: Located along the beautiful Chandra River in Lahaul, Chatru is a small mountain settlement known for its rugged landscapes, dramatic peaks and adventurous roads.
• Batal: High-altitude rest stop located in the desolate Chandra River Valley and the famous Chacha Chachi Dhaba (Chandra Dhaba) is also located here.
• Kunzum Pass: Enjoy high-altitude mountain pass and also visit the Kunzum Mata shrine.

Day 2 — Kaza to the Highest Villages (Hikkim, Langza, Komic)

Distance | Time Required: ~50-60 km | ~4–5 hours

The Journey: After breakfast, head towards the spectacular high-altitude villages (Langza, Hikkim and Komic) surrounding Kaza. Each offering a unique glimpse into the culture and lifestyle of Spiti.

Sightseeing Points:

• Langza: Famous for its massive, iconic golden Buddha statue looking over the valley and prehistoric marine fossils. Offering a fascinating glimpse into the region's geological history.
• Hikkim: The world's highest operational post office, standing at an altitude of 14,567 feet (4,440 meters). Bring some postcards and stamps to mail to your loved ones!
• Komic: It is widely celebrated as the highest village in the world connected by a motorable road. Visit the ancient Lundup Tsemo Gompa monastery.

Day 3 — Kaza to Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham Bridge, Dhankar and Tabo Manastery

The Journey: After breakfast, explore Spiti's famous monasteries, ancient villages and remarkable mountain landmarks.

Sightseeing Points:

• Key Monastery: The largest, most postcard-perfect fortress monastery in Spiti, dramatically situated on a hilltop overlooking the Spiti River valley. Admire its ancient architecture, prayer halls and Buddhist heritage.
• Kibber Village: Explore this high-altitude village, known for its stunning, scenic mountain views, unique Himalayan culture and whitewashed village surrounded by lush barley fields.
• Chicham Bridge: Suspending over a deep 1,000-foot gorge, a spectacular steel truss engineering marvel in the Spiti Valley, famous for being Asia’s highest suspension bridge.
• Dhankar Monastery: Dhankar Monastery is famous for its dramatic, gravity-defying location, perched on a sheer sandstone cliff in India's Spiti Valley. Dating back over 1,000 years, it was once the capital of the Spiti Kingdom and serves as a vital repository of ancient Buddhist art and architecture.
• Tabo Monastery: Tabo Monastery is the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas. Often called the "Ajanta of the Himalayas," it was founded in 996 CE and is globally renowned for its thousand-year-old earthen architecture, intricate mud-plaster frescoes and priceless collections of ancient thangkas.

Day 4 — Kaza to Chandratal Lake (The Moon Lake)

Distance | Time Required: ~100-110 km | ~5-7 hours

The Journey: After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your scenic drive towards Chandratal Lake crossing Kunzum Pass once more. Take the narrow, rugged 14 km diversion from Batal to reach Chandratal.

The Experience: Park the vehicle and take the scenic, flat 1 km walk to the edge of the crescent-shaped lake. Watch the crystal-clear water change colors from deep sapphire to turquoise under the mountain sun.

Overnight stay at the camps in Chandratal.

Day 5 — Chandratal Lake to Manali

Distance | Time Required: ~110-120 km | ~6–8 hours

The Journey: Wake up to the beautiful mountain views surrounding Chandratal Lake. After breakfast, check out from the campsite and begin your return journey towards Manali. Trace your way back from Chandratal to Batal and navigate the bumpy Gramphu-Batal stretch one last time. Pass back through the Atal Tunnel and descend into the lush green landscape of Manali.

Reach Manali by evening and drop at the hotel or Volvo Bus stand.
